If your gift subscription was purchased before February 21, 2025, it follows our legacy gifting process. For gift subscriptions purchased after February 21, 2025, the process is different. You can read more about the updated process here.

How the Legacy Gift Subscription Works

1. Recipient Notification

• On the date selected by the buyer, the recipient receives an email notification about their gift.

• The email includes a redemption link that the recipient must use to activate their subscription.

2. Subscription Activation

• The subscription does not start automatically. The recipient must redeem their gift using the provided link.

• Once redeemed, the first letter is processed and mailed within 5 business days.

3. Mailing Timeline

• First Letter:

  • Sent via USPS First Class Mail and typically arrives in 7–10 business days (U.S.).

• Subsequent Letters:

  • Mailed mid-month each month following the first letter.

What If the Recipient Hasn’t Redeemed Their Subscription?

• If the recipient has not redeemed their gift, they will not receive any letters.

• Encourage them to check their inbox and spam folder for the activation email.
